Preview: Defakto Vector

German manufacturer Defakto has announced its newest model, the Vektor. This mid-sized watch features a Miyota 9015 automatic in a 39mm case with a classic mid-century modernist style.

Retro cues include the convex dial, bent hands, domed anti-reflective plexiglass crystal, and baton hands. The slim, polished and brushed stainless steel case is manufactured in-house, and if previous work is any guide, the execution and finish should be excellent.

The Vektor is available in two versions: 4.V-0201-S white dial and black hands, and 4.V-0101-R black dial and red hands. They ship on black cowhide straps. Both are attractive, but the pop of red on the black dial does the trick for me.

The watch is currently sold directly from Defakto via email request to info@defakto-uhren.de. Price is 640 including VAT and 537.82 (about $647 USD) for those of us outside the EU. It ships worldwide by FedEx. If you are looking for a quality classic modern watch, the Defakto Vektor should be on your list. ⬩
